Savoyard Atawey’s hydrogen charging stations are targeting Europe

Atawey, a company that develops hydrogen charging stations has just raised 25 million euros to accelerate its development and open an office in Madrid, Spain, from 2023.

Atawey, a Savoyard company manufacturing green hydrogen charging stations, has just announced a fundraising of 25 million euros in bank loans and public financing from the Idec group, BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole Alpes and Banque Populaire Will have.

The ambition of the company, created in 2012 and already a leader in its field, is to expand in Europe. Thus, a new office is opening its doors in the first quarter of 2023 in Spain, in Madrid.

Large-scale development

Jean-Michel Amaré and Pierre-Jean Bonnefond, founders of the SME have plenty of other projects in mind. This fundraising will allow the company to establish itself in Europe but also to create new manufacturing plants (opening in 2024). In particular on the Technolac site with a production by 2025 of 60 hydrogen stations per year (more than 4 new stations per month). But that’s not all ! Atawey, which has nearly 50 employees, to launch a recruitment offer with 100 jobs by 2025.

A leading SME in the market in France

The company perfectly embodies the industrial revival in France, with manufacturing entirely carried out in France in specific workshops in Bourget-du-Lac (73) and its perfectly adapted to respecting the environment. Hydrogen charging stations can be used by all types of vehicles, cars, trucks, buses, cargo bikes, etc.

In 2022, the company installed 23 stations in France and achieved a turnover of 5 million euros and is aiming for 12 million in 2024, with the ambition of reaching 60 million euros by 2025!
