The almost spring-like weather this Saturday, February 20 pushed holidaymakers and locals to go to the mountains. But some outings ended at the hospital. The men of the Republican Security Company (CRS Alpes) of Modane, accompanied by a doctor from the Smur of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, first flew towards the eastern point of the Epéna, to Pralognan-la-Vanoise , to come to the aid of two people technically stranded in a snow corridor. They were evacuated to the car park where they were parked, using the helicopter of the air detachment of the gendarmerie of Modane. They then rescued a cross-country skier who suffered a fractured femoral neck after a fall, at Valloire , near the hamlet of Bonnenuit.
They also went to the peak of the Grande Valloire, in Saint-Colomban-des-Villards, to help a touring skier suffering from a torn calf muscle. Then they flew to the peak of Rognolet, on the heights of Celliers , to help a man with pain in his foot after a long snowshoe walk. Unable to snowboard back down as planned, he was picked up by rescuers from Modane.
Direction then the plan of the Arpette, under the Cross Jean Claude, with Belleville , to rescue a 13-year-old boy who suffered a broken tibia while hiking with his father. All were evacuated to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne hospital. A 51-year-old cross-country skier suffering from a broken ankle, standing at the Dent Parrachée hut, aboveAussois, was evacuated to the DZ then picked up by her family. Another cross-country skier, victim of an ankle trauma, on a trip to Côte 2000, in Arêches-Beaufort, was taken to Albertville hospital. Finally, they rescued a young woman victim of a sledging accident on the beginner’s track. Méribel-Mottaret and took her to the Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne hospital.
