Savings Bank – Savings Bank arrives at Merca Panama

As part of the commitment to be closer to Panamanians, supporting the reactivation of the country and the growth of the local economy, Caja de Ahorros, under a unique concept, inaugurates its new Mobile Branch in National Markets of Cadena de Frío SA (Merca Panamá ), offering all its clients, consumers, producers and the general public, the ease of banking services, promoting financial inclusion in remote, commercial and fair areas, from anywhere in the country.

The Mobile Branch makes up the first phase of the permanent arrival at Merca Panama under an active listening strategy, in which the growing need of users for 24/7 banking services was identified, innovating once again in the sector and being pioneers of cutting-edge initiatives to promote financial inclusion.

In this sense, the second phase concludes with what the entity has called Cash Point, that entails the digital self-service installation, also with the latest technology, which will remain fixed on this site with an intelligent ATM.


This inauguration was attended by His Excellency Augusto Valderrama and Carlos Rognoni, minister and vice minister of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, as well as the general manager of Merca Panama, Ranth Berard, the United Consumers Association, users, merchants, among others.

About the Mobile Branch

The Mobile Branch has been structured and designed to provide all the services of a regular facility with the particularity of being located anywhere in the national geography, having the capacity to serve an average of 4 people simultaneously, with 2 business executives, 2 boxes, an ATM and Online Banking service, compliance with all the security measures and guidelines of the Superintendency of Banks, with which Caja de Ahorros becomes the first bank to implement this type of innovation in the financial sector .

This new rolling facility will be located as the first point in Merca Panama and will remain for 2 months with a schedule from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., where the Clients will be able to open accounts, withdrawals, deposits, quote mortgage, auto and personal loans, as well as request their credit and debit card.

Caja de Ahorros has a path of innovation and digital transformation that has marked the path of the bank in the last year, to which these new projects and other technological solutions are added to provide facilities for its more than 730 thousand active clients. Among them, the entity has launched various unique formats in the market, which are complemented by a robust digital strategy through technological facilities and updating of its Online Banking and Mobile Banking, especially “De Una”, the service that allows users to Savings Bank customers make immediate payments through their cell phone number.
