“Saving Zurich’s Not Guilty from Bankruptcy: The Struggle of a Salad Bar Chain During the Pandemic”

Zurich’s “Not Guilty” is deep in the red. The salad bar chain has already had to close three out of five branches, according to “Blick” it is heavily in debt.

Only two branches of Zurich’s “Not Guilty” can save the company that has already published a debt call in the Official Journal. According to “Züri Today”, attempts are currently being made to negotiate a deal with the creditors. Part of the debt is to be written off.

If no agreement can be reached, the company faces bankruptcy. But how could Zurich’s “Not Guilty” fall so low after being so popular? The pandemic is to blame for this, as the managing director explains.

During the lockdown, the company had to resort to Covid loans worth several hundred thousand francs. The company now has eight years to repay the loans.

The managing director no longer has much hope for the future of Zurich’s “Not Guilty”. Even now, sales are significantly lower than before the pandemic. Due to working from home, many would no longer visit the salad bar as a place for lunch. It remains to be seen what the future of the company looks like.
