Primetals employees in Savigneux denounce the takeover of their company by the German Mutares. They set up a picket line last Friday in front of the Forézien site.
The strikers are demanding guarantees on the sustainability of the site through investments to keep the 265 employees, before the sale. Between 25 and 50 jobs are threatened, according to unions. Primetals has been manufacturing equipment for the steel industry and metallurgy for over 100 years.

English variant: a cluster at the Saint-Just-en-Chevalet nursing home
83 cases of the English variant of covid-19 were identified at the Saint-Just-en-Chevalet nursing home. 8 people have died from it in recent weeks. This would be the 1st Ehpad concerned by this variant in the Loire.

AstraZeneca vaccine is coming to pharmacies
The Regional Health Agency announces this Monday that from February 23, the AstraZeneca vaccine will be distributed in town pharmacies in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region. It can be administered by city doctors from February 25. The vaccination centers already have them since the beginning of the month.

Fire in the Bergson district in Saint-Etienne
The fire broke out in an apartment on rue de L’Enseigne Roux, around 7 p.m. The disaster was quickly brought under control by the firefighters but the flames spread to the apartment above. 11 people were evacuated and some had to be relocated. A candle would be at the origin of this fire.
