Savelend’s founder and former CEO Ludwig Pettersson has passed away. The company says so in a press release.
“It is with immense sadness and consternation that we have received the news of Ludwig’s passing. Our thoughts go out to Ludwig’s family and close relatives,” says Bo Engström, chairman of the board of Savelend Group.
“You usually say that people have drive, but that is not enough when describing Ludwig, he was a primal force that leaves us all in great sadness and loss. Our main focus here and now is to take care of our employees and continue to manage the fantastic company Ludwig has led and built up during these years.”
The press release comes one day after Savelend confirmed that Ludwig Pettersson is no longer CEO and that the company is looking for a new person to lead the company forward.
He took his fintech company to First North as the “youngest CEO of the exchange” in 2021, a company he founded in 2014. Shortly thereafter, he was diagnosed with cancer. Breakit met Ludwig Pettersson in 2021. Then he told us that he continued to fight despite the illness notice.
“I have been working full-time the whole time. I refused to be on sick leave even though the doctors wanted me to. You have to be grateful that it has worked so well to work. Because in this way I have been able to keep my brain going”, he said then.
Ludwig Pettersson was only 32 years old. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
