In Ville Saint-Gabriel, a Facebook group has just been created to save the old rectory from demolition.
It was abandoned several years ago and was destined, it seems, to be razed to make way for a new box.
We learn that the building is cited in the directory of built heritage of the MRC d’Autray as having a “superior” heritage interest.
A citizen, Danielle Lefrançois, acquired it and moved it to land not far from the church.
She had it renovated at great expense.
Madame Lefrançois then put it up for sale, as she could no longer take care of it.
The most recent purchase offer she received apparently came from abroad and that is why a Facebook page was created to arouse the interest of the population and find a new vocation for the building.
