The eighth chamber music festival “Meeting in Saulkrasti” will take place in Saulkrasti very soon – from August 5 to 15. At this festival, musicians and composers meet to delight listeners with a special chamber music program for two weeks.
The Chamber Music Festival in Saulkrasti is a creative workshop where musicians and composers meet for the eighth year in a row. This music festival was founded in 2014 by violinist Magdalena Geka. Although many of the festival participants’ daily life takes place in various concert halls around the world, the desire to delight Saulkrasti residents and city guests has not diminished. For the third year in a row, the artistic director of the festival is violinist Konstantīns Paturskis, a musician of the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra.
The opening concert of the festival will take place on August 5 at the Zvejniekciems Culture House, where clarinetist Anna Gāgane, violinist Magdalena Geka and pianist Lucas Loss (together with the trio “Carmine”) will perform works by Johann Baptist Vanhal, Arama Hatchaturian and Belle Bartok. In August, listeners will be delighted by the trio “Fabel” (clarinetist Anna Gāgane, cellist Kristaps Bergs and pianist Linda Leine) with the program “Cinema Reflections” dedicated to film music, but on August 8, the meritorious piano quartet “Quadra” will perform in the same culture house. In the second week of the festival, participants will offer listeners two more concert programs.
