After eliminating Manchester United in the previous round, Middlesbrough pulled off another feat against one of the Premier League’s greats by beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in extra time to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.
l Tottenham add another year, since 2008 without winning a title, while Middlesbrough return to the quarter-finals three years later.
Peterborough, 0 – Manchester City, 2
Manchester City suffered at Peterborough, but Riyad Mahrez came to the rescue and placed them in the English Cup quarterfinals (0-2). Pep Guardiola’s men did not have a good time in the muddy Peterborough, which was not in the best possible condition, and even the second division team had chances to take the lead.
Luton Town, 2 – Chelsea, 3
Chelsea needed to come back to Luton Town to be in the FA Cup quarter-finals (2-3) and he did it thanks to the first goal as ‘Blue’ by Saúl Ñíguez, and a good game by Timo Werner, who scored a goal and gave two assists, the last, to the Belgian Romelu Lukaku.
The Spanish midfielder held Chelsea through a poor first half in which Luton took the lead twice. The first of them in minute two, with an uncontested header by Reece Burke coming out of a corner. He tied the match Saúl, with a nice goal from the edge of the box, after a recovery from Mason Mount in the middle and a ball that Werner left for him to curve into the net.
Liverpool, 2 – Norwich, 1
Liverpool, with a brace from Japan’s Takumi Minamino, beat Norwich City (2-1) and reached the FA Cup quarterfinals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season.
Jürgen Klopp’s team, who removed this weekend the curse of not winning an English cup since 2012, with the conquest of the League Cup, beat Norwich City thanks to two goals from Minamino, who left the match very face in the first part.
Southampton, 3 – West Ham, 1

For their part, West Ham United were unable to continue their good season in the Premier League, where they are in fifth place, after saying goodbye to the FA Cup (3-1) at the hands of Southampton. Perraud, Ward-Prowse and Broja scored the goals for ‘The Saints’.
