Saudi Traffic Directorate seizes 1,481 illegal quad bikes in nationwide raids

Dammam – Asharqiya Municipality, Traffic Police and Dhahran Police jointly seized 117 illegal quad bikes during inspections at Half Moon Beach in Dhahran. Bikes that did not comply with the rules and regulations and violated the safety standards were seized. Dhahran Baladia Chief Engineer Faisal Alqahtani said that actions will be taken against law breakers who pose a threat to the safety of beach visitors and accidents caused by quad bikes will be prevented. Baladia chief also said that the municipality will continue strict inspections to prevent violations of the law.
1,481 illegal bikes were seized during raids conducted by the Saudi Traffic Directorate in various provinces during the week. These bikes were seized during the inspections conducted from December 17 to 23. 115 from Riyadh, 111 from Makkah, 63 from Madinah, 45 from the Eastern Province, 32 from Asir, 24 from Tabuk, 53 from Hail, 73 from Al-Qazim, 106 from Jizan, 23 from Najran, 24 from the Northern Frontier Province, and seven from Al-Jawf. The traffic police seized seven bikes from Albaha, 763 from Jeddah, 36 from Taif and five from Khuraiyat within a week.
