Molham bin Muhammad Hindi, the Saudi astronomical researcher specializing in physical astronomy and a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, stated that the phenomenon of astronomical conjunction is one of the astronomical phenomena that arise due to the rotation of celestial bodies around the sun.
He pointed out that when at least two Germans line up on a single straight line with the Earth, the phenomenon of conjugation occurs that occurs when the value of the celestial meridian of the two bodies is equal, and it is a phenomenon that rarely occurs between Jupiter and Saturn, as they do not become associated with each other except every 20 years.
This is due to the long period of their rotation around the sun, so Jupiter takes 12 years to complete a cycle, while Saturn needs 30 years, so Jupiter needs 20 years to catch up with Saturn again, adding that whenever a coupling occurs between them, the apparent distance is.
We also see them from the Earth differently, and if the planets’ planes are close, the distance is the smallest possible and vice versa, and during the next pairing event between them on Monday evening, corresponding to December 21, 2020, the apparent distance between them will be approximately 6 arc minutes.
And that very close distance did not occur since 1623, but at that time they were near the sun and the conjunction could not be seen, while the close conjunction that the inhabitants of the Earth saw was 794 years ago in the year 1226, that is, before the invention of the telescope, and December 21 will observe this conjunction for the first time in history.
