Al-Marsad newspaper: Political analyst Salman Al-Ansari said: “I am not exaggerating if I say that I hope to see Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem soon.
Israeli occupation
He added during a press statement: “The arrival of the Saudi ambassador to Palestine is undoubtedly a historic step, but some in the media said it was the first time and this is not true. In fact, Saudi Arabia had its own envoy before the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem.”
He continued: “The Kingdom has always considered the Palestinian issue a top priority, and the Kingdom has always been the largest donor to Palestine. Since 2000, the Kingdom has provided more than $7 billion in humanitarian aid.”
He added: “In general, the Palestinian people have gone through a lot. The era of colonialism has ended in the world, except for the Palestinians. They deserve to live in peace and dignity.
He continued: “The Saudis are as interested and committed to the two-state solution as the Palestinians, and through the words of Prince Mohammed bin Salman in his interview with Fox News, he spoke about the imminence of a solution for Palestine and normalization with Israel, but this will not come at the expense of the Palestinians.”
He added: “I can also understand that there is a level of confusion at the present time among journalists regarding what is happening, the arrival of the Saudi ambassador to Palestine and at the same time the arrival of an Israeli minister to the Kingdom. Here I will tell you how I see it… The Saudis wanted to change the method and not The goal, the method is through active participation in some tactics through which you can actually show that you are good and show confidence-building mechanisms. The goal is fixed, which is that the Palestinians must be given their rights, and I believe that the Saudis are practicing real politics in this regard.”
