The Saudi Ministry of Transport and Safety has launched a special campaign to ensure safe driving during the short Eid holiday. The campaign is titled Safe Holidays. Awareness is by reminding the eight safety instructions. The aim is to make holiday travel safer and reduce road accidents.
Safety guidelines include wearing seat belts, obeying speed limits, closing vehicle doors, not using mobile phones while driving, keeping children in child seats only, and taking precautions according to weather warnings before traveling. And the authority asked to ensure the functionality of the tires and other equipment of the vehicle and to ensure adequate sleep before the journey. The heightened awareness comes as the country records a sharp rise in road accidents and deaths during the holiday season.
