Jeddah – It is reported that the owners of Saudi Milk, one of the most popular dairy companies in Saudi Arabia, are actually Kuwaiti businessmen. Founded in Jeddah in 1976, the company was owned by businessmen including Kuwaitis, Europeans and Saudis. In 1991, after the European owners withdrew from the shares of the company that had been operating in the cities of Jeddah, Madinah and Dammam, the company became owned by the Saudis and the Kuwaitis.
At present all its directors are Saudi nationals. Amir of Kuwait Hamad Sabah Al Ahmad and others are members of the board of directors. Longlife milk is the most prominent of Sadafco’s products, which accounts for one-third of the dairy market in Saudi Arabia. Many Indians including hundreds of Malayalis are working in SADAFCO.
