Riyadh: An online celebrity has been punished in Saudi Arabia for making remarks that are considered harmful to family values. A fine of 100,000 Riyals (Rs. 22,13,787) was imposed and the license was revoked.
The action was taken by the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which monitors media activities. In a statement, the authority said that action has been taken against the Snapchat influencer for making inappropriate expressions that instigate the disintegration of family relationships.

The name of the celebrity was not released by the Media Regulation Authority. The media reported with the controversial video that the action was taken against the famous content creator Asma Alzayari. Asma has 18 lakh followers on Tik Tok. Under the Cyber Act, this crime is punishable with imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to 30 lakh riyals.
