Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud Rejects Normalization with Israel Without Clear Path to Palestinian State – CNN Interview

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that there will be no normalization between the Kingdom and Israel, without a clear and reliable path towards establishing a Palestinian state.

In an interview with the American CNN network, the minister stressed the need to stop the ongoing “massacre” against civilians in the Gaza Strip, noting that the key to de-escalating the escalation in the region is ending the conflict in the Strip.

He also pointed out that the Red Sea region is going through a difficult and dangerous time, and that his country is concerned about the continuation of the American strikes and those carried out by the Houthi group, warning that they may lead to an expansion of the conflict in the region.

The Saudi Foreign Minister called for calm and stopping the escalation, noting that his country believes in freedom of navigation.

The Foreign Minister’s statements were part of an interview that was recorded on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which was held last week in Davos, Switzerland, and was broadcast by the American network CNN on Sunday.

A few days ago, the United States launched strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, and last week it returned the Houthi group to the list of “terrorist groups,” after the Houthis carried out strikes in the Red Sea against Israeli ships or those heading to Israel, in solidarity with the Palestinians and demanding the lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for more than 3 months left 25,105 martyrs, 62,681 injured, and a humanitarian and health disaster. It also caused the displacement of about 1,900,000 people, meaning more than 85% of the Strip’s population.
