The Cultural Fund, based on its innovative role as a supporter and financial enabler of the cultural sector in the Kingdom, contributed for the third time by sponsoring the Saudi Film Festival, which concluded its tenth session yesterday in Dhahran, organized by the Cinema Society, in partnership with the King Abdulaziz “Ithra” World Culture Center, and with the support of the Film Commission.

During the festival period, from May 2 to May 9, the Fund participated in a pavilion at the Production Market Exhibition, aimed at visitors and those interested in the film sector, with the funding programs and non-financing that it offers.

At the forefront is the ‘Film Sector Funding Programme’, through which the Fund supports establishments working in the film sector and includes their activities in the entire industry. Starting from the content of feature films and series, to the areas of infrastructure, heavy equipment, photography equipment, audio, cinematic production, and others, as well as a review of non-financing solutions, including “consultations” and “vouchers”, with the aim of empowering creators and increasing their willingness.

As part of its involvement in the production market, the Cultural Fund took part in a discussion session called “Saudi Aid Fund” with the participation of the Ithra Center and the Red Sea Fund, in which The representative of the Fund, Fares Al-Askar, about What the funding program of the film sector offers in supporting the resources of the sector, and the promising opportunities in the industry Films in the Kingdom The closing ceremony of the market also saw the honor of the Cultural Fund for supporting the festival. filming promotion.

The Saudi Film Festival is a prominent annual event that includes a number of film and screenplay competitions that have seen a significant improvement in their structure this year, the film “Dreams of the Age” by the brothers Fares and Suhaib Quds, who were supported by. the Fund, competing in the “Feature Narrative Films” category, and which was also shown on the Festival’s film screening schedule.

It should be noted that the Cultural Fund was established in 2021 AD, as a development fund that is organizationally linked to the National Development Fund, with the aim of developing the cultural sector and achieving sustainability by ‘ to support cultural activities and projects, and to make it possible to invest in cultural activities and increase the profit of the sector, and to give an opportunity to those who are interested to promote the cultural work, and that the Fund will have an effective role in it to achieve the objectives of the National Culture Strategy and the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
