Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received today, Friday, in Jeddah, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
Relationships review
During the reception, they reviewed the relations between the Kingdom and Iran, and future opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop them, in addition to discussing developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas, and the efforts made towards them, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
“Productive and useful conversations”
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister said, “I held fruitful and useful talks with Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
He also conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to the Crown Prince, while Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

“hinging point”
And the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, confirmed yesterday in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart that the resumption of diplomatic relations with Iran is a turning point for security in the region.
He also stressed the Kingdom’s aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with Tehran, adding that the desire is sincere and serious to enhance mutual trust between the two sides.

For his part, Abdullahian indicated that he held fruitful discussions in Riyadh, adding: “We value the Kingdom’s role in the region.” He said, “We can work with Saudi Arabia to resolve issues in the region immediately.”

He also pointed out that relations with Saudi Arabia are moving in the right direction and witnessing progress. He stressed that his country is determined to develop and strengthen relations with Saudi Arabia.
Resumption of relations
It is noteworthy that the two countries had agreed on the tenth of last March, in Beijing, to resume diplomatic relations severed since 2016, to reopen their diplomatic missions, as well as to activate the security cooperation agreement signed between them in 2001.
Later, Tehran appointed Assistant Foreign Minister Ali Reza Enayati as its new ambassador to the Kingdom, about two months after announcing the resumption of relations between the two parties.
Last June, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan went to Tehran on an official visit, during which he met Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, stressing that Tehran provided facilities for the return of diplomatic missions.
