Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has canceled a visit to Japan scheduled for this weekend, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) said yesterday (17).
The Japan Foreign Trade Organization said the same day that a business forum in Japan and Saudi Arabia scheduled for the 21st had been canceled because the delegation led by Crown Prince bin Salman did not come to Japan.
However, he did not comment on the reason for canceling Crown Prince bin Salman’s visit to Japan.
In this regard, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters, “Nothing has been decided regarding Crown Prince bin Salman’s visit to Japan.”
“The relationship between Japan and Saudi Arabia is very important as they are important strategic partners,” said Minister Matsuno.
Earlier, Crown Prince bin Salman met with South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol in Seoul yesterday (17), and the two countries agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, defense and construction.
Notably, Saudi Arabia signed investment contracts worth $30 billion with Korean companies on the occasion of Crown Prince bin Salman’s visit to Korea.
Crown Prince bin Salman paid a state visit to Thailand, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministers meeting will be held after visiting Korea, according to Saudi Arabian state media.
