RIYADH – Arab Coalition-led offensive Saudi Arabia managed to destroy the missile defense system Houthi in Marib, Yemen, on Friday. The foreigners who were the operators of the air defense system were also killed.

Earlier, US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking said the Iranian-backed Houthi militia was prioritizing the military campaign to take over Marib. “Instead of suspending the war and transferring aid to the Yemeni people,” he said.

He urged the Houthi to respond to the good plans for a national ceasefire in Yemen that had been submitted to them.

On the same day, fierce fighting between Yemeni soldiers and Houthi militias broke out in Hodeidah. “The Yemeni army has made great progress in the area and in their last stronghold north of Marib in recent days,” a Yemeni military source toldAl Arabiya.

The Houthis currently control Hodeidah and often use the city as a launching point for operations and attacks.

“Until the Yemeni army takes control of Hodeidah, weapons will continue to be smuggled into the Houthis,” the source continued.

Iran is accused of supporting the Houthis in the fight against the Yemeni government. Iran is also accused of supplying the group with weapons, such as drones and missiles that are often used to target Saudi Arabia.

“Fighting has escalated in recent days as the Houthis face an unprecedented defeat,” the source added, speaking on condition of anonymity. Al Arabiya.
