Saudi Citizen Executed for Receiving Weapons and Bomb Training Abroad

Authority Arab Saudi executed a citizen who was found guilty of having received weapons training abroad, which was referred to as an ‘enemy country’. Not only receiving weapons training, the Saudis are also said to have received bomb training.

As reported AFPWednesday (24/5/2023), news agency Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that a man of Saudi nationality, whose identity was not disclosed to the public, had “joined one of the camps” in a country it called an “enemy country”.

The name of the country where the Saudi man received weapons training was not further stated.

SPA said in its report that the man “received weapons and bombs training” abroad, before returning to Saudi Arabia “to carry out his terrorist plans to violate the kingdom’s security”. It is not clear how long the overseas weapons training lasted.

Dead execusion it came a day after three other Saudis convicted of terrorism were executed in the east of the country.

The three men were sentenced to death on charges of joining an “outside the kingdom” camp and receiving overseas weapons training. Two of them received training on how to make and defuse bombs.

The execution of the Saudi man is the latest in the country in a series death sentence imposed in cases involving terrorism.
