Saudi Bans Selfie and Video Recording in the Grand Mosque and Nabawi, Violators Fined Heavy

MAKKAH, iNews.id – Government Saudi Arabia will enforce the ban selfie and take photos and video from Masjidil Haram, Mecca, and Masjid Nabawi, Medina. This policy was actually made in 2017.

This ban is intended to maintain the honor of the Two Holy Mosques and most importantly ensure the devotion of the worshiping congregation.

Thesaudiexpat reported, citing government sources, that authorities are considering imposing heavy fines for violators. This rule will not only apply to the Two Holy Mosques, but also all mosques in Saudi Arabia.

According to official reports, taking pictures in or around these two holy places would be considered an offense. No one is allowed to take photos or videos. The security forces will ensure that no one will violate the law and will not hesitate to arrest them.
