Saudi Arabia’s Rose Production Project to Reach 200 Crores by 2026: Sustainable Rural Agricultural Development Program in Taif

Taif | Saudi Arabia plans to increase rose production as part of a sustainable rural agricultural development program. The project aims to increase the production of roses to 200 crores by 2026.

A 34% increase in rose production was recorded with 433 beneficiaries in 2023. The project will establish new nurseries in the rose growing areas of Taif and Jizan, an extraction center for roses and plants at Abu Arish in Jizan, and mobile clinics to diagnose diseases of roses and medicinal and aromatic plants.

Artificial intelligence technology will also be used for this purpose, aiming at better production. A new tissue culture laboratory will be established in the national capital, Riyadh, to produce high quality roses.
