Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince MBS Calls for End to Arms Exports to Israel at BRICS Summit

Jakarta – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) urges all countries to stop arms exports to Israel. He said that ending the war in Gaza requires collective efforts.

MBS expressed this while attending the extraordinary BRICS Summit, Tuesday (21/11/2023), virtually. BRICS consists of a group of large developing countries that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Launch Al ArabiyaWednesday (22/11/2023), MBS said that Saudi Arabia demands the start of a serious and comprehensive peace process to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders. According to him, a two-state solution is the right choice.

“The Kingdom’s position is constant and firm; there is no way to achieve security and stability in Palestine except through the implementation of international decisions regarding a two-state solution,” MBS said.

MBS also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s rejection of military operations in the Gaza Strip. They demanded that the operation be stopped immediately. He said the “brutal crimes” taking place in Gaza required collective efforts to end them.

In the virtual summit with South Africa as host, MBS reiterated Saudi Arabia’s rejection of the forced transfer of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and called for collective efforts to stop the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the region.

“Saudi Arabia has made tireless efforts since the start of the war on October 7 to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip,” he added.

As is known, the Palestinian and Israeli Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip erupted on October 7 2023 after Hamas launched a sudden attack. According to Israeli authorities, the Hamas attack was the deadliest attack in Israel’s history. At least 1,200 people were reported killed.

Israel then launched a major counterattack and continues to this day. According to authorities in Gaza, the war has killed more than 13,300 people, thousands of whom are children.

Public facilities, including hospitals, and residential areas were destroyed by bombs dropped by Israel.
