Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Expresses Concern Over Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program and Potential for War

If Iran gets nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will have to take a similar step “for security reasons to balance power,” the kingdom’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said in an interview with Fox News.

“The use of nuclear weapons by any country would mean that it is at war with the rest of the world. The world cannot see another Hiroshima. If the world sees 100,000 people killed, it means you are at war with the rest of the world,” the prince said.

Saudi Arabian authorities do not rule out the possibility of war with Iran in the relatively near future. In 2018, the Crown Prince called on other countries of the world to impose sanctions against Iran for economic and political pressure.

“If we don’t succeed in what we’re trying to do, we will most likely have a war with Iran in 10 to 15 years,” said Mohammed bin Salman.

According to US estimates, if the Iranian government decides to create nuclear weapons, it can be done in a few months, and the creation of special fuel will take 12 days. The White House believes Iran should “under no circumstances” be allowed to do this. If Tehran acquires nuclear weapons, Israel will receive “freedom of action,” the United States promised.

Iranian authorities insist that there are no plans for nuclear weapons, and they call claims to the contrary false.
