Saudi Arabia wants to compete among the European giants. The Football Federation of that country is planning to “meddle” in European football and for that it will look to play in the Champions League.
The information is shared by the Italian newspaper “Corriere dello Sport” which explains that the Federation of Saudi Arabia wants to have the national champion competing in the European Champions League, proof that it is, obviously, until today, disputed only by clubs from Europe. The Saudi country is planning to make this proposal to UEFA so that next season the Saudi champion will already compete in the millionaire competition, taking advantage of the new format of 36 teams.
Saudi Arabia’s goal is to have a club compete in the most prestigious club competition in the world and thus increase the visibility of the country, emblems and players. However, there is one factor to take into account: if this goes forward, it will take away a place in the Champions League for a European club.
