Saudi Arabia Will Stop Israel’s Attack on Jerusalem

RIYADH Raja Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud from Saudi Arabia has convinced the President Palestine Mahmoud Abbas for the Kingdom’s support for the cause and for the Palestinian people. The King also stressed that the Saudis continued their efforts to stop Israel’s attacks on Al-Quds or Jerusalem.

The Saudi ruler expressed his support in a phone call with Abbas on Friday.

According to the official statement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Salman has also instructed Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Fahran to continue efforts at international forums to support the Palestinian position.

“Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques also confirmed that the Kingdom will continue its efforts at all levels to stop Israeli attacks on Al-Quds by communicating with all parties concerned to put pressure on the Israeli occupation government, wishing the Palestinian people security and peace,” read the official Kingdom statement on those phone calls issued by Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saturday (22/5/2021).

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry on Friday said Riyadh welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and said it appreciated Egypt’s and international efforts in this regard.

“We appreciate the efforts of Egypt and the efforts of the international side to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and affirm our continued efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state,” the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Jerusalem is an area that is contested by Israel and Palestine. Zionist Israel declares Jerusalem its capital as a whole. In contrast, Palestinians have long longed for East Jerusalem as the future capital of their state.
