KOMPAS.com – Government Saudi Arabia announced the plan to revoke the suspension of implementation permit umrah step by step.
As is known, the permit to carry out the Umrah has been suspended since last March to contain the spread of the corona virus that may occur.
In addition, during this year’s Hajj, Saudi Arabia also imposed a number of new provisions, including reducing the number of pilgrims to health protocols such as social distancing.

This suspension is lifted after 6 months of the travel restriction policy.
“The kingdom will end all restrictions on air, land and sea transportation after January 1 next year,” the interior ministry said.

However, as reported AFP, Sunday (13/9/2020), the ministry has not given an exact date when the restrictions will be lifted.
Meanwhile, Middle Eastern and non-Saudis with “iqama” residence permits or visit visas can enter the kingdom from September 15, 2020, provided they have tested negative for Covid-19 in the past 48 hours.
As for the “extraordinary category” for government and military employees, foreign embassies, and people who need treatment will also be allowed into and out of Saudi territory starting September 15.
In addition, this exemption also includes students whose studies or training require travel to another country.
Families that had to be separated as a result of the lockdown (lockdown) are also allowed to travel to reunite with family members in other areas of the kingdom.
The authorities put them in the category of humanitarian cases.
Saudis with a residence permit outside the kingdom are also allowed to travel.
Previously, the suspension of international flights carried out by Saudi Arabia left many people stranded abroad.
These restrictions have gradually been relaxed.
Prior to the planned lifting of suspension of international flights, Saudi Arabia also ended the imposition of a curfew across the kingdom in June.
