Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the missile attack on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza on October 17. King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s government called the attack a “heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces”.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia firmly rejects this brutal attack, and considers it a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions.
“Including international humanitarian law,” emphasized the kingdom, as published by the media Saudi Gazette.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also expressed its anger at Israel’s refusal to stop attacks on Palestine despite numerous international requests.
“This worrying development requires the international community to abandon double standards and selectivity in the application of international humanitarian law when it comes to Israel’s criminal practices,” read another royal statement.
Saudi Arabia also called for a serious and firm stance to provide protection for innocent civilians. The kingdom also urged the opening of safe corridors to deliver food and medicine to civilians in Gaza.
“The Israeli occupation forces are fully responsible for their repeated violations of all international norms and laws,” Saudi Arabia stressed again.
Al’s report Jazeera mentions that there are international laws that regulate war. This is called international humanitarian law (IHL) where there is protection of hospitals and health workers.
Meanwhile, according to the Geneva Conventions articles 18 and 19, sick and wounded people, as well as medical staff, hospitals and mobile medical facilities are protected in times of war.
