Saudi Arabia’s Information and Communication Technology Commission (CITC) signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese tech giant Huawei to enrich the kingdom’s talent pool in digital economy and technology information and communication.
The protocol was signed by Ahmad Aljarboa, vice governor of CITC’s Business Support Department, and Terry He, CEO of the Saudi branch of Huawei Tech Investment, Huawei said in a statement on Sunday.
Huawei will become a strategic partner of CITC in several areas, including knowledge exchange, human resource development, and the information and communication technology industry, the statement said.
Huawei will also share its experience and best practices with CITC, including through joint trainings for CITC officials on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the statement said.
Charles Yang, president of Huawei Middle East, said CITC’s wise leadership in advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital ambitions in line with its Vision 2030 is commendable.
“We have in the past had the privilege of collaborating with CITC on many projects, and now we look forward to helping them improve Saudi digital infrastructure, develop local talent and promote information technology. and the kingdom’s communication on the international scene, ”he added.
Huawei is already a partner of choice for Saudi service providers who want to support their customers with a wide range of solutions. Huawei is also working with Saudi ministries and companies to help them create added value through a broader digital transition. Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” program has been working in collaboration with CITC for five years now.
