Saudi Arabia Requests Refund of 4.5 Million Euro Payment from TFF

The last champion of the Super League, Galataasray, and Fenerbahçe, who won the Ziraat Turkish Cup in the same season, were going to face each other in the Super Cup.

The match, which was planned to be played in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, was postponed after the crisis.

Following the developments, a new move came from the Saudi Arabian side regarding the issue.

SAUDI ARABIA REQUESTED REFUND OF THE PAYMENT

According to the news reported by Sabah, Saudi authorities requested the 4.5 million euro payment they made from TFF back. Saudis sent a letter to TFF regarding the issue.

20 percent of the said figure was given to TFF and 80 percent to the clubs. On the other hand, it was emphasized that 50 percent of the portion given to the clubs was deducted by the BRSA as debts.

It was reported that negotiations between TFF and Saudi Arabian officials are continuing.

ALI KOÇ: “WE WILL RETURN THE MONEY”

On the other hand, Ali Koç stated in a program he was a guest in the past weeks that they would refund the money.

Ali Koç used the following statements on the subject:

“I know we received 1.3 million, it may have been 3 more. Of course, that money is not our right. If the Federation asks, we will return it. They will probably want to return it. We have a contract with the Federation. It is between the Saudi side and the Federation. As a matter of right and law “I think we should return the money we received. If TFF had acted transparently throughout the process, I think the process would not have ended like this.”
