Saudi Arabia plans to strengthen repatriation Saudi Arabia | Gulf News | News from Middle East

In Saudi Arabia, localization is set to intensify in areas such as restaurants, hypermarkets and shopping malls. The decision is a setback for many Malayalees working in these fields. The Ministry of Human Resources has stated that jobs in the education and legal sectors will also be localized.

In Saudi Arabia, many expatriates, including Malayalees, are planning to hire more expatriates in restaurants, cafes, hypermarkets and shopping malls. The percentage of indigenization in these areas has not been announced. Restaurants are an area where many expats, including Malayalees, run their own establishments. Many expatriates are working in hypermarkets in the sales and driver sectors. Ahmed al-Rajhi, the Minister of Human Resources, said that jobs in the education and legal sectors would also be localized as part of efforts to reduce the unemployment rate of the natives. In January alone, 28,000 Saudis were employed. The current unemployment rate among Indians is 11 percent. The goal is to reduce it to seven percent by 2030. Over the past two months, repatriation has intensified in areas such as aviation, online taxi, ports, and call centers.
