“Saudi Arabia Introduces Electronic Payment System on the King Fahd Causeway to Reduce Congestion”

Dammam: Saudi Arabia has introduced an electronic payment system to complete operations on the Causeway. Payment can be made through JISR app under Causeway Authority. The system will identify tolled vehicles as they reach the causeway through automated scanning.

The new system facilitates the completion of payments including tolls on the King Fahd Causeway without stopping the vehicles. The new system will enable easy payment transactions through the GIS app under the authority. Tollgates on both sides of the causeway can be used this way.

Sanketi Vidya is used for this, which identifies the number plates of vehicles that have been paid for by scanning. The new system will help reduce congestion on the causeway and speed up procedures. In this regard, Radio Frequency Identification service has also been arranged for the regular travelers through the Causeway.

The method involves placing an electronic chip on the front of the vehicle. This will facilitate automated identification of the vehicle and faster completion of the process.
