Saudi Arabia declares public holidays in the private sector in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr

Riyadh: Saudi has announced festive holidays. The Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development has announced a holiday in the private sector of the country. The holiday for the private sector is four days. The ministry has asked to provide holidays on other days instead of weekend holidays.

Business hours will end on April 20, the 29th day of Ramadan. The ministry informed that there will be a holiday for four days from then till Monday. But Friday and Saturday are weekend holidays. It is suggested that two days of additional leave should be given instead of these holidays.

The leave was granted in accordance with the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law. When holidays and weekends fall at the same time, the rule is to give holidays equal to the days before or after those holidays. The ministry also asked the employer to follow this labor law.
