Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists spread on social media the announcement by Saudi authorities of the arrest of a resident who had posted content that “violated the sanctity of private life”.
And the Saudi General Security page on the social network Twitter posted a photo of the person after his arrest, without showing his face.
The public safety page said in its tweet, “Police in the Mecca region have arrested a resident who documented and posted visual content that includes words that violate the sanctity of private life and religious values.”
He added: “He was arrested, regular measures were taken against him and he was referred to the public prosecution.”
