Government Saudi Arabia now includes vaccines corona virus (COVID-19) artificial Sinovac Biotech to the list of vaccines accepted for entry into its territory. However, there are additional conditions that still have to be met if people vaccinated against Sinovac wish to enter Saudi territory.
As reported by Malaysian media, The Star, Tuesday (13/7/2021), the Minister of Religious Affairs at the Department of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, said that vaksin Sinovac made in China is now on the list of recognized entry to Saudi.
Zulkifli called this good news for those who want to perform Hajj and Umrah in the future. “Let’s all pray that the affairs of the Malaysian congregation who have been approved to perform the Hajj this year, can be made easy by Allah SWT,” he said in a post via Facebook.
Separately, local media Saudi Gazette reported that people who had been injected with two doses of Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines — all made in China — needed to receive a booster dose as a prerequisite for entering Saudi territory.
This latest requirement is contained in a regulatory update released by the Saudi health authorities and announced by the King Fahd Highway Authority on Sunday (11/7) local time.
According to the Saudi health regulation update, people who have received two doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines must receive booster doses of vaccine types approved by Saudi authorities, namely Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, AstraZeneca vaccine, Johnson & Johnson vaccine and Moderna vaccine.
