Saturday in the 2nd HBL: Balingen still undefeated, Potsdam stops the negative series

At the beginning it looked in the SparkassenArena as if HSC 2000 Coburg could be the first team to beat the leaders HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. Coburg dominated the initial phase, in which Balingen acted too unfocused with a few technical errors. However, HBW got a better grip on this in the minutes that followed and, in the person of Tim Hildenbrand, managed to equalize 9:9 in the 22nd minute. From then on, the leader of the table remained true to his role as favourite. With a 5-0 run in 5 minutes, the Swabians pulled away from HSC by seven goals. In the remaining 15 minutes, the yellow-blacks only managed to reduce the gap to -6 goals and had to admit defeat with 35:29 (16:13).

The best shooter of the game was Gretar Oddursson, who scored 11 goals with a 100% shot rate.

Balingen remains unbeaten at the top, while TuS has done its homework as a pursuer. The Owls clearly won against Rostock yesterday. As a result, TuS N-Lübbecke was under pressure to keep the gap to 2nd place in the table from increasing. However, the task at HSG Nordhorn-Lingen seemed difficult on paper. The TuS had never been successful in Nordhorn. However, he used the 15th matchday to write club history. Michael Haass’s team finally defeated HSG Nordhorn-Lingen with 21:24 (9:10) and celebrated their premiere with their first away win.

The Wolves Würzburg had the opportunity to win their second home win in a row against 1. VfL Potsdam. However, the eagles did not want to make it that easy for the wolves. In a hard-fought game, VfL finally took the opportunity to stop the negative trend that they had been following for five games. He defeated the bottom of the table 28:31 (13:16) and got his 16th and 17th points, while Würzburg continues to bear the burden of the red lantern with only four points.

In the last game of the 15th match day, TV 05/07 Hüttenberg prevailed 30:28 (12:14) against TSV Bayer Dormagen, who had weak substitutes.
