Catholic Education has obtained “satisfactory results in the exams for the 2021-2022 school year, announced the National Executive Secretariat for Catholic Education (SENEC), during a press conference, Saturday August 6, in Abidjan.
According to the SENEC deputy, in charge of pedagogy and schools, Moh Coutou Cyprien, Catholic Education which covers general education, technical education, vocational training and higher education has obtained approvable results.
Thus, for the Elementary Primary School Certificate (CEPE) and entry into sixth form, out of 12,411 candidates present, 11,296 were declared admitted, i.e. a success rate of 91.02%, in 2022 higher by 3, 83% compared to last year.
For the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC), Catholic education recorded 4,285 admitted for 5,810 candidates present, i.e. a success rate of 73.61%, against 80.38% last year, which equates to a drop of 6.97%.
For the Baccalaureate (BAC) in general education, all series combined, out of 3,602 candidates present, 2,392 were admitted, i.e. a success rate of 66.38% against 62.84% in 2021, corresponding to a 3.54% success bonus.
At the level of technical education, the institution recorded 7.14% of admissions to BAC B (one admitted out of 14 candidates) and 39.73% to BAC G (58 admitted out of 146 candidates).
Regarding vocational training, which concerns the Tertiary and Industrial sectors, Catholic Education obtained respectively 51.88% success in the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP) (69 admitted out of 133 candidates) and the Technician’s Certificate ( BT) 41.25% (66 admitted out of 160 candidates).
According to Mr. Moh, these “quite satisfactory results overall” are part of the reform of Catholic Education initiated in 2017, which aims to make Catholic schools “even more efficient”.
“We were able to achieve our own goals,” as recommended by the Episcopal Commission for Catholic Education, he argued.
Catholic Education has 536 establishments. SENEC is directed by the Reverend Father Jean-Luc Assoi N’dreman and exercises under the dome of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Côte d’Ivoire (CECCI), we note.
