The satisfaction of the citizens of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with their municipal public services rises for the fifth consecutive year, in this edition 10 percentage points compared to 2022, and reaches 93%, 19 percentage points above the national average. A relevant piece of information is how the number of dissatisfied Tenerife residents also fell 6 points and remained at just 4% of unfavorable opinions. This is reflected in the data from the IV Urban Services Satisfaction Barometer, carried out by the Urban Services Observatory (OSUR). .
These results place Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 5th place in the comparison of the 30 cities analyzed, thus consolidating its upward trend in recent years. All services, without nuances, improve
their assessment compared to the previous Barometer notably, and they are located above the national average, even so, they lose one position in the ranking due to the boost that the elections have given to the quality of public services in all the cities analyzed.
In the detailed analysis by services, public transport achieves an impressive 97% satisfaction, bordering on excellence. This figure places the city 19 percentage points above the national average that has been driven by the policies of cheaper and free transport to cushion the rise in fuel prices and the energy crisis.
Water supply is the service that receives the second highest rating, with 93% satisfaction, 4 percentage points above the 2022 result, and 12 percentage points more than the national average. All aspects are close to 90% satisfaction, including the invoice that supports 95% of the people of Tenerife and the operational management that obtains 96% satisfaction. Without a doubt, spectacular.
The garbage and waste collection service obtains 92% satisfaction, a figure that is 12 percentage points above the result of 2022, and 24 above the national average. The most valued is the customer service and the resolution of incidents that obtains one hundred percent satisfaction, followed by the containers for selective collection (paper, glass, etc.), with 91% favorable opinions.
Also, 94% of Santa Cruz residents are satisfied with the care of parks and gardens, and the conservation of public and sports spaces, a figure that places the city 14 percentage points above the result obtained in 2022, and 24% above the national average. The most valued thing is the care and conservation of children’s areas, which has a 93% endorsement. Green areas, parks of other ages and maintenance, also exceed 90% approval.
The street cleaning service is the last one, despite the excellent result obtained, with 92% satisfaction, a figure 27 percentage points above the national average, and 17% better than the previous Barometer. The aspect that Santa Cruz residents like the most is the cleaning of sidewalks and streets in their area, and the provision and equipment for the provision of street cleaning services (trucks, equipment, personnel), both with 92% satisfaction.

The results of this fifth edition of the Barometer are the result of an ODC survey of 5,200 people carried out between April 12 and May 12, which seeks to reflect the opinion of citizens regarding their municipal public services, in the 30 most populated in the country: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Malaga, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Bilbao, Alicante, Córdoba, Valladolid, Vigo, Gijón, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Vitoria, A Coruña , Granada, Elche, Oviedo, Terrassa, Badalona, Cartagena, Jerez de la Frontera, Sabadell, Móstoles, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pamplona and Alcalá de Henares.
