Schools and institutes in the A Coruña region close this week on most atypical face-to-face course in decades. And they do it with satisfaction for having been able to complete the academic year with few incidents and with restrictive measures that have substantially changed the dynamics inside and outside the classroom.
The president of the Association of Management Teams of Institutes of Galicia, Isabel Russian, underlines the difficulties posed by screens or safety distances in the relationship between teachers and students.
The president of the Association of School Management Teams, Antonio Leonardo, highlights the great achievement of being able to maintain face-to-face classes throughout the course, compared to the situation of the previous year when they were canceled in March.
Both in schools and institutes emphasize the students’ ability to adapt to the rules of the new situation and their collaboration for the corrector development of the classes and other activities. The management teams are now waiting to know the protocols that will govern the next course in order to prepare it.
The school year concludes with 284 active cases in educational centers in Galicia and 8 closed classrooms
The school year of the 2020-21 pandemic has concluded with 284 active cases of coronavirus in non-university centers in Galicia -schools, institutes and nursery schools-, which represent 16 more than the penultimate day of class, and with eight classrooms closed for the incidence of this coronavirus – two of them in nursery schools, which are still open.
In addition, the school year has ended without centers closed by Covid-19, when the only one that had been in the previous day left the list: the Moraña Children’s School for a positive.
This is clear from the data updated this Wednesday by the Ministry of Education and Health, collected by Europa Press, which includes records of the last school day -this June 22, the 2020-21 academic year has ended.
Active infections in educational centers have only decreased in the Ferrol area (-3), they have remained unchanged in those of Lugo and Ourense and have increased in those of Pontevedra (+7), Vigo (+6), A Coruña (+5) and Santiago (+1).
At the top the A Coruña area stands out -the only one that ends the course with more than a hundred positives-, with 112 active cases, five more than the previous day, and with six classrooms closed by the Covid -without changes-, three of them in the CEIP Sagrada Familia with 11 positives -no changes-. The IES Afonso XO Sabio de Cambre stands out, with 18 infections -one more-, the highest number in Galicia.
