The Antwerp water company Water-link will detect water leaks in its pipeline network using satellite images. The technique for this was originally developed to search for water on Mars. Water-link estimates that in this way it can save 900,000 cubic meters of drinking water every year. That is the same as 360 Olympic swimming pools.
