In a statement on Friday evening, Daniel Hagari at the Israeli Defense Forces says that they are preparing for the next stage of the war, according to CNN.
The conflict escalated after Hamas entered Israel on 7 October.
– The main priority is to get back everyone who has been kidnapped and find those who are missing, says Daniel Hagari.
– At the same time, we continue the war against Hamas. And we are getting ready for the next steps of the war. As we speak, the border crossings are closed and no emergency equipment is entering Gaza, says Hagari.

Earlier on Friday, Egypt claimed that the Rafah border crossing is open, and denies having blocked it.
But it is unclear whether people can still escape and emergency aid enter.

On Friday, two hostages were released by Hamas, and with the help of the Red Cross were transported to Israel.
There are still many Norwegians stuck in Gaza. A total of 200, of which over a hundred are children. The authorities are working hard to get them out.
Blocked by Israel
The situation for those stuck inside Gaza is serious.
In response to the attacks by Hamas, Israel has imposed a complete blockade of Gaza.
Emergency aid and petrol are not getting in and the water supply has been turned off in parts of Gaza. At the same time, rockets are constantly falling.
According to one statement from the UN the hospitals in Gaza are close to collapse. WHO has registered over 50 attacks against the health service, according to the UN.
