This was stated by the financier Emil Hersev to the Bulgarian State Statistics Service, who was asked to comment on Ivan Iskrov’s interview with the national television. In order to make a serious analysis of what was said by the governor of the BNB Ivan Iskrov in a television interview, time is needed, said Hersev. In such a short time the main points could be outlined, a serious thesis requires a deeper analysis, he pointed out.
“There are people who quite well-intentionedly try to comment on the problem. That is, the experts that Mr. Iskrov put in quotation marks should not include the entire community of Bulgarian bankers and economists,” said the financial analyst. “It is certain that no one will stand and be silent and wait for the Central Bank to simply look for the solution in the law”, emphasized Hersev. Otherwise, he absolutely agrees with the thesis of the governor of the BNB, that without a political decision the opening of the KTB is impossible.
“The demarcation lines are already very delicate in order to determine the mechanisms for proceeding with KTB. In my opinion, the attempt to stabilize KTB is extremely wrong. In this regard, I fully support the governor of the BNB. The institution does everything within the law. Unfortunately no way was found for a creative solution. I think such a solution is possible,” commented Hersev. But let’s hope that with the election of a new government, things will go faster, he specified.
“The fact is that Iskrov did not find support from the 42nd National Assembly. However, the colleagues did everything possible, but the BNB did not. In my opinion, much more could have been done, but the BNB decided to encapsulate themselves, to close themselves within of the institution managed by some undisputed and highly respected professionals. However, it seems to me that they were wrong. On the contrary, I think they should be congratulated and respected for managing the institution this difficult situation. After all, one day history will speak for itself. However, the attempt to blame the BNB for everything is very dangerous. They are currently focusing on themselves their negative feelings, for which they are not to blame,” Hersev is categorical.
