SAS resumes flights to New York

The Oslo – New York route will begin with two weekly round trips, leaving Oslo on Wednesdays and Saturdays and returning on Thursdays and Sundays. Subsequently, SAS will conduct ongoing reviews of the demand to determine the feasibility of an increase in frequency.

The route provides easy access to New York City getaways and travel to the rest of the US via Newark International Airport’s many transfer options.

“SAS is very pleased to be able to resume direct intercontinental routes with an attractive schedule from Oslo. Many people are looking forward to visiting family and friends in the US, and our clients have been requesting this particular route. The New York route will also be important for Norwegian fish exports, ”says Norwegian Executive Vice President and Director Kjetil Håbjørg.

On March 13, 2020, the pandemic temporarily halted SAS’s direct route between Oslo and New York. More than a year later, the route will finally be reopened and will be operated by the 266-seat Airbus A330. SAS will also continue to fly to Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington from Copenhagen.
