“The energy transition in which I help companies, I apply it to myself. Andy Kimenau, 38, is from the country. He returned to Henridorff to “get closer to a territory [qu’il] love “. This is why he put his industrial experience at the service of a turning point that he wanted“ without total interruption ”with his career.
Since 3 October, Andy Kimenau is responsible for the circular economy and leads the approach in industrial and territorial ecology launched by the community of municipalities of Sarrebourg Moselle-Sud.
“I come with the experience, the language I have of the industry. This could make it easier to jump over the barriers “, he wishes. Packaging engineer, packaging research and development manager, responsible for logistics and drafting of contracts, coordination of the Entrepreneurial Innovation Chair within the ARTEM project, grouping of three Nancy Grandes Ecoles … Andy has forged his own tools throughout his career to accomplish his missions.
The industrial basin as land
From the business incubator where he works, Andy seeks synergies between companies to bring this circular economy to life. For example, the waste of some can become a resource for others. He then works on the outlets for the leather waste produced from several local businesses. Currently, these wastes go to landfill or are incinerated when they represent several tons.
Mass purchases are also part of the ongoing actions, whether they are of energy or large volumes of hydroalcoholic gel.
It also involves supporting companies in eco-designing their products (less waste, longer lifespan), or helping them with the energy transition, as Andy did with his own.
