The construction of the Sarkandaugava overpass began in March 2020 and was completed on December 15, 2022. The overpass, which connects Viestura Avenue and Tvaika Street, has a length of 454.4 meters, and the total cost of the project was EUR 42 million. Although it was planned to open the overpass for traffic by the end of 2022, the opening was delayed. However, it is now planned to open the overpass before Easter.
