Leader of a local rap group, Giovanni, a 16-year-old teenager, was shot dead during a fight between gangs in Sarcelles (Val-d’Oise). Two 16-year-old teenagers, also suspected of being his murderers, were indicted for “murder” last Friday in Pontoise, before being imprisoned.
It is 8 p.m. on March 21 in the gardens of the Valery-Larbaud residence in the heart of Trois-Fontaines. A fight breaks out between a group of about ten teenagers from rival neighborhoods. Two shots ring out and Giovanni is hit in the head.
He collapses at the foot of a window. When help arrives the young man is lying on the ground, unconscious. In critical condition, he was taken to Beaujon hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine).
He died two days later in hospital
Despite the efforts of the medical team, he died two days later. In the hours that followed, two other wounded went to the hospital, victims of new brawls between a band of Sarcelles who continued to fight it out. These boys are auditioned but are uncooperative with the police.
The investigators of the criminal group of the judicial police service of Cergy are responsible for carrying out the investigations. They interview many witnesses and cross-reference their information with work on telephony. They understand that this affair is part of a context of rivalry between the districts of Lochères and Codec. That night, the two groups fought over a dark history of bad eyes.
They deny everything
Investigators manage to identify two suspects who were present at the scene at the time of the incident. One of them was exfiltrated by his relatives in Eure.
On May 17, the young people were arrested at their homes in Sarcelles and Louviers (Eure) with the help of research and intervention brigades from Versailles and Rouen (Seine-Maritime). The two suspects were taken into custody in Cergy, but during their hearings they denied any involvement in Giovanni’s death.
