Sarah Paulson’s best American Horror Story characters, ranked

Some of the American Horror Story cast members have been around since season one, with Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson among the most frequently seen actors.

When it comes to characters, however, Sarah Paulson has done everything from portraying Siamese twins to a medium to a drug addict ghost. Here are some of Sarah Paulson’s favorite characters, ranked from worst to best.

Ally Mayfair-Richards from ‘Cult’

This character is initially afraid of pretty much anything. She talks to her therapist about her fear of clowns, holes and blood – all shaken by the results of the 2016 election. When her partner finds out she voted for Jill Stein, the character is terrorized into joining a cult to to take revenge.

The twist is that this character eventually takes Kai Anderson’s Senate seat and wants to make the world a better place. Sure, that means she’s part of a new, female cult, but with that much power she’ll never be a victim again.

Bette and Dot Tattler from ‘Freak Show’

Paulson has portrayed two characters this season. That would be the Siamese Tattler twins who are performers in a local circus. One Gemini thinks the other is holding her back because she’s a little snooty.

As a result, these characters find themselves struggling for love and acceptance, mostly because they share a lower half.

Hypodermic Sally (also known as Sally McKenna) from ‘Hotel’

She may be a little twisted and strange, but Sally has a big heart and just wants to find love. She happens to be one of the ghosts associated with Hotel Cortez, the creepy setting from American Horror Story: Hotel, complete with vampires, stolen children, and ghosts.

Why AHS Fans Think Season 10 of “American Horror Story” has something to do with the ocean

Cordelia Goode aus ‘Coven’

There are a few witches who have multiple powers, but there is only one Colonel. This is Cordelia Goode, after all, the headmistress of Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Women and the daughter of the previous Supreme. This character is ready to risk everything for her coven, even her eyesight.

The character Cordelia Goode was so popular (and powerful) that she returned for several episodes of Apocolypse. There she and the other witches were entrusted with the task of saving the world and destroying the Antichrist.

Lana Winters from ‘Asylum’

This figure is fearless. She faces serial killers and eventually follows her dream of becoming a renowned reporter. Of course, this has the price that she is put in an asylum against her will. Lana Winters returns for American Horror Story: Roanoke to hear the story of yet another survivor of traumatic events.

Several seasons of American Horror Story, including AHS: 1984, are available for streaming on Hulu. More news on season 10 of the series and its American Horror Stories offshoot will likely be announced in the coming months.
