There have been several rounds about the Christian Democrats’ EU parliamentarian Sara Skyttedal being or not being on the party’s list before the election in early June.
At first she was moved down in favor of colleague David Lega, but won the vote in the party council and bounced back up as the first name.
So last Friday the news came that the party is poking Skyttedal again, and suggested the opinion leader Alice Teodorescu Måwe as a replacement before an extra party meeting in February.
Skyttedal about what happened
Now Sara Skyttedal gives a first interview with SVT’s 30 minutes about what happened during the fall and winter, which caused her to be poked again as a top name from the list.
– There was a clear plan to depose me, says Sara Skyttedal (KD).
According to her, she has given an account of the contacts she had with the Sweden Democrats, and says that it was about two informal conversations. That she would have tried to end up on SD’s list for the EU elections, she firmly rejects.
– I have absolutely made no demands about it, nor received such an offer, she says.
“Ebba Busch fantasy”
Furthermore, Sara Skyttedal says that Ebba Busch allegedly accused her of having wanted to run for the Christian Democrats and then switch parties to the Sweden Democrats. Something she believes has never been an issue.
– I was confronted with something that only exists in Ebba Busch’s imagination, she says.
She continues.
– My view is that I have been crystal clear with how these contacts have looked long before it became a problem. I perceive that Ebba Busch has not been honest with me with her intentions, says Sara Skyttedal.
Sara Skyttedal says that she will leave the Christian Democrats’ party board, and that she is unsure about the future in the party.
– It is not certain that I will remain as a member. I have to land in this, she says.
SVT is looking for Ebba Busch.
