The German software company SAP wants to train two million people by 2025 and give them at least basic knowledge in development, programming and other digital skills. Interested parties from the Czech Republic will also be able to use it.

Similar projects are continuously being launched by other IT companies, responding to the constant lack of qualified people. Although there are now waves of layoffs or hiring freezes in the technology sector due to the economic situation, the long-term trend is such that in Europe alone, according to the European Commission, there are around one million vacant IT positions.

Even in the Czech Republic new research and development centers are constantly being created and demands for digital skills at various levels are also growing in other professions, which among other things creates space for new startups and no-code and low-code services.

A study by ManpowerGroup proves itthat 75% of companies report a talent shortage this year. The World Economic Forum has again estimatedthat over a billion professions will be transformed by technology.

SAP is expanding its activities through an already functioning service SAP learning. Inside it has more than two thousand people to train. It also connects to the service recently Coursera.

In addition to SAP, the Czech Microsoft also announced a new training program for stakeholders, which operates a development center with over a thousand employees in our country. He wants to train half a million people in the Czech Republic through his network.

SAP wants to provide both general and specifically specialized technology training for its software ecosystem. For example, it will provide ten thousand certifications on SAP for free. It will also be possible to obtain an entry-level consultancy role at SAP without the need for previous experience or university degree.

“We have been running similar programs for a long time and have interesting results. About 61% of graduates report promotions or career advancements. More than 80% of recent graduates found a job immediately,” said Lupì Maxwell WesselSAP’s vice president of education.

Here too, the German giant carries out research and development activities, for example through the Concur section or the Brno branch of SAP Labs.
